PORT Foundation – Science That Inspires

With passion for science, with the future in mind

The Foundation of the Polish Center for Technology Development, headquartered at the Pracze Campus on Stabłowicka 147 in Wrocław, is a non-governmental organization established in 2019. The primary mission of the PORT Foundation is scientific and educational activity as well as promoting selected areas of science. The Foundation carries out research and development initiatives with a particular focus on biotechnology, materials engineering, and biobanking.

It also runs projects popularizing knowledge in medical, natural, exact, and technical sciences, with a strong emphasis on climate awareness and environmental protection. Its initiatives are directed at audiences across all age groups.

From Idea to Experiment – Supporting Young Talent

The PORT Foundation implements educational projects designed to spark public interest in science, bring its secrets closer to a wide audience, and demonstrate the purpose and impact of scientific achievements in everyday life.

We encourage curiosity, discovery of new technologies, and active, research-driven learning. One of our flagship initiatives was created in cooperation with the international company OSRAM and focuses on photonics and microelectronics.

As part of this project, a modern educational laboratory is being established at the Pracze Campus, offering programs for children, youth, and adults, prepared by the experienced team of Łukasiewicz – PORT.

We invite everyone to participate in initiatives that connect different communities and generations. We also encourage companies to share knowledge, ideas, and achievements in order to jointly fulfill the mission of social responsibility of science and business.

Fighting the COVID-19 Pandemic

One of the statutory goals of the PORT Foundation is health protection, promotion, and education. This mission gained particular importance during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Foundation supported the efforts of Łukasiewicz – PORT, which actively participated in combating the effects of the pandemic.

The diagnostic laboratory launched at the Institute in April 2020 significantly supported the Regional Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Wrocław and other public institutions, performing hundreds of daily tests for the presence of the coronavirus.

Donations made to the Foundation allowed for the purchase of personal protective equipment for employees of Łukasiewicz – PORT as well as costly laboratory materials and accessories essential for SARS-CoV-2 testing. We thank you for your support!
