SENIOR ANIMAL TECHNOLOGIST
Łukasiewicz – PORT Polish Center for Technology Development is a Research Institute within the Łukasiewicz Research Network. It focuses on the development of new technologies by conducting research for the needs and in cooperation with the industry. With high-class specialists and the most modern infrastructure, we ensure the ability to conduct the most advanced scientific research. Our Institute consists of three research centers – the Center for Life Sciences & Biotechnology, the Center for Materials Engineering and the Center for Population Diagnostics, which have access to specialized laboratories – a combination that allows comprehensive research and development as well as pilot studies for industry.
We are currently looking for a candidate for the position
SENIOR ANIMAL TECHNOLOGIST
Place of work: Wrocław

Main tasks and responsibilities:
• Ensuring appropriate conditions for keeping and protecting experimental animals;
• Supervision over people taking care of animals in the organization;
• Supervision over the welfare of animals kept in the animal facility;
• Compliance with applicable regulations related to the maintenance of animal facilities in the organization;
• Compliance with work discipline, law regulations, regulations, internal procedures and guidelines applicable in the organization as well as health and safety regulations;
• Work according to the schedule also on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Our expectations:
• Education: min. secondary school and the professional title of technician or a diploma confirming professional qualifications in professions related to animal husbandry;
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in a position related to the supervision of the welfare of animals kept in centers and the care of these animals;
• Training in the care of animals intended for use or used in procedures;
• Training in proper supervision of persons taking care of animals;
• Training in methods of killing animals used in procedures;
• Knowledge of the Act on the Protection of Animals Used for Scientific or Educational Purposes;
• Ability to work in a team;
• Interpersonal communication skills;
• Ability to learn quickly and be highly autonomous, such as problem solving and decision making;
• Good work organization;
• Practical knowledge of MS Office;
• Knowledge of the English language at a level that allows free communication.
An additional advantage will be:
• Higher education in the field of veterinary medicine, zootechnics, biology or related;
