Success at the Łukasiewicz Accelerator!

The Łukasiewicz – PORT team achieved double success in the first edition of the Łukasiewicz Accelerator. During the final gala, the group representing our Institute received two awards: the audience award and the second jury award.

Jacek Marczak, Ph.D., and his team consisting of Michał Piłkowski. MSc. Eng., and Joanna Wicińska, Ph.D. Eng. won the audience’s hearts and gained the recognition of experts evaluating projects participating in the new program of the Łukasiewicz Research Network. The project “Functional hydrophobic coatings with reduced ice adhesion for use in passive anti-icing systems” was among the top 5 proposals for Łukasiewicz start-ups.

Łukasiewicz Accelerator is a program addressed to employees of the Łukasiewicz Research Network. It aims to support the commercialization of the results of scientific research. In the first stage committee composed of advisers for the development of start-ups and entrepreneurship, representatives of Łukasiewicz Research Groups, and employees of the Łukasiewicz Center assessed the projects. The authors of selected projects took part in a two-week camp, i.e., an intensive program of workshops that helped them build business competencies. In the final, 14 teams presented their projects.

The other winning teams are: Thaliana Space from Łukasiewicz – ILOT, Ultar from Łukasiewicz – IliM, Spinel from Łukasiewicz – ICiMB and Oriolis from Łukasiewicz – IMN.

Congratulations to all the winners!
