The Advanced Materials Synthesis Research Group (AdMat) operating within \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT<\/strong> has developed novel thermochromic active components for printing inks, which irreversibly change color after exceeding a defined threshold temperature. This technology enables the design of <\/span>thermochromic indicators dedicated, among others, to monitoring the cold chain in the logistics of temperature-sensitive products.

The chemical structure of the developed components can be adjusted so that the color change reaction occurs within a range from \u201350\u00b0C to +50\u00b0C, which allows for broad use in various temperature conditions.

The developed thermochromic substances can be used as additives to inks applied in printing processes.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

  • screen printing,
    <\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • flexographic printing.
    <\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul>

    They are particularly recommended for use on plastic filmsused, among others, in the production of packaging for frozen food products. Thanks to this, it is possible to <\/span><\/span>apply thermochromic indicators directly onto packaging \u2013 without the need for additional labels.
