A delegation of senior leadership from \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT visited Dresden and Leipzig, where they met with representatives of leading research centers, biobanks, and institutions supporting the development of the life sciences sector in Saxony. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration in biobanking, precision medicine, novel therapies, and technology transfer, as well as to explore opportunities for cross-border research and development projects. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The delegation included Jaros\u0142aw Bosy, Director of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT; Pawe\u0142 Kurant, Deputy Director; Joanna Cybi\u0144ska, Director for Research and Development; and Patrycja Gazi\u0144ska, Director of the Population Diagnostics Center. <\/p>

The program included meetings, among others, at Wirtschaftsf\u00f6rderung Sachsen GmbH, where the delegation was introduced to opportunities for collaboration with Saxony\u2019s life sciences sector and to the functioning of the regional innovation ecosystem. Representatives of the Wroc\u0142aw-based institute also visited the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden \u2013 one of Europe\u2019s leading centers for research on cell and tissue regeneration \u2013 as well as BioBank Dresden, which supports clinical research and the advancement of personalized medicine by collecting and providing high-quality biological samples for scientific projects. <\/p>

The discussions focused on immunology, stem cell research, cell-based therapies, and the development of advanced research infrastructure to support the implementation of innovative therapies. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

A key highlight of the program was the presentation of the collaboration model within DRESDEN-concept \u2013 an alliance bringing together Technische Universit\u00e4t Dresden, research institutes, the university hospital, and regional scientific institutions. It serves as an example of an effective regional innovation ecosystem, where science, medicine, and industry jointly develop new technologies and therapies. <\/p>

For \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT, which is developing its own biobank and conducting advanced research in precision medicine at the P4Health Center of Excellence, collaboration with partners with a similar research profile is a key element in building international capabilities and unlocking new development opportunities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In Leipzig, the delegation visited the Leipzig Medical Biobank and ICCAS \u2013 Innovation Center Computer Assisted Surgery, where solutions in biobanking, digital health, and advanced medical technologies were presented.
An important part of the visit also included discussions with partners developing innovations in cell and gene therapies, as well as the transfer of these technologies into clinical practice. <\/p>

At the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI, the delegation was introduced to the institute\u2019s activities as well as its approach to organizing and managing large-scale research projects.The institute follows a well-established and proven project delivery model based on the effective integration of scientific and operational expertise. <\/p>

The geographic proximity of Lower Silesia and Saxony creates favorable conditions for strengthening scientific and technological collaboration. Shared challenges and aligned development priorities mean that building cross-border partnerships can tangibly accelerate the advancement of modern medicine and innovative therapies on both sides of the border. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
