This year, for the first time in its history, the Congress will be held in Wroc\u0142aw. The organization involves scientists from six institutions conducting neuroscience research \u2013 all signatories of the Wroc\u0142aw BioTech Hub. The event will gather 300 scientists, clinicians, and representatives of the biotech industry from around the world, as well as leading international organizations supporting brain research (FENS, renowned scientists:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prof. John F. <\/strong>&nbsp;<b>Cryan<\/b> (University College Cork, Ireland) \u2013 the pioneer of gut microbiome modulation for improving brain function and mood will present the latest findings on how gut bacteria can regulate brain activity and how this knowledge can be used in treating mental disorders<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prof. Nancy Bonini <\/strong>&nbsp;(University of Pennsylvania, USA) \u2013 member of the US National Academy of Sciences, will showcase her groundbreaking research using fruit flies to understand how genetic risk factors \u2013 including those linked to Parkinson\u2019s disease \u2013 influence brain cell death <\/li>\n<li><strong>Prof. Andrew Holmes <\/strong>&nbsp;(National Institutes of Health, USA) \u2013 a leading expert on the biological effects of stress, will demonstrate the use of cutting-edge optical tools to monitor neural circuits controlling stress responses<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr. Simona Lodato<\/strong> (IRCCS Humanitas, Milan, Italy) \u2013 representative of the FENS-Kavli Network of Excellence, which gathers Europe\u2019s most talented young neuroscientists, will talk about generating brain cells from blood and skin cells and using them to study brain diseases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The conference will also feature leading neuroscientists from Wroc\u0142aw:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prof. Jerzy Mozrzymas <\/strong>&nbsp;from the Medical University of Wroc\u0142aw will lead a session with Dr. Grzegorz Wiera and Prof. Dariusz Rakus on the mechanisms of synaptic plasticity \u2013 the foundation of memory <\/li>\n<li>A session led by <strong>Dr. Natalia Ma\u0142ek-Chudzik<\/strong> from Wroc\u0142aw University of Science and Technology will focus on the role of immune cells in pain modulation<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr. Mateusz Kucharczyk<\/strong> from \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT will present his findings on the search for new drugs to alleviate cancer-related pain<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr. Ali Jawaid<\/strong> (\u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT) will explain how research among survivors of the Balkan war led to the discovery of mechanisms behind the intergenerational transmission of trauma<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr. Bartosz Zglinicki<\/strong> &nbsp;(\u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT) will
