\u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT Polish Center for Technology Development and the University of Wroc\u0142aw are launching a partnership in doctoral education. Through this collaboration, young researchers will be able to prepare their dissertations at the University of Wroc\u0142aw while working and gaining experience in international Research Groups at our Institute.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

On July 20, 2021<\/strong>, \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT<\/strong> signed an agreement with the University of Wroc\u0142aw<\/strong>, allowing the Institute\u2019s employees and scholarship holders to participate in the university\u2019s doctoral school. This partnership enables them to combine academic studies with hands-on experience gained through participation in applied research conducted by international research teams<\/strong>.
\u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT<\/strong> is the first institute within the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network<\/strong> to establish such cooperation with a university.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Doctoral students of the University of Wroc\u0142aw, who are also employees or scholarship holders of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT<\/strong>, will have the opportunity to acquire practical skills<\/strong> while working on unique and socially significant projects<\/strong>. They will benefit from state-of-the-art laboratory equipment<\/strong> and the expertise and mentorship<\/strong> of renowned scientists associated with the Wroc\u0142aw institute.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cThe \u0141ukasiewicz Network and Wroc\u0142aw\u2019s PORT are key partners in the commercialization of science in Poland,\u201d said Prof. Przemys\u0142aw Wiszewski<\/strong>, Rector of the University of Wroc\u0142aw.<\/p>

\u201cWe are confident that this cooperation with the University of Wroc\u0142aw \u2014 which offers great potential not only in education but also in research \u2014 will continue to develop dynamically. Today\u2019s agreement, which allows us to jointly create a doctoral school, will help us educate a new generation of scientists and show them the practical, socially beneficial dimension of science,\u201d added the Rector.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cFirstly, as an institute focused primarily on applied research, \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT and the University of Wroc\u0142aw \u2014 the largest university in Lower Silesia \u2014 can complement each other\u2019s competencies<\/strong> and support the development of experts who will contribute to the economy.<\/p>

The second aspect of this cooperation is much broader \u2014 it is essential that we in Wroc\u0142aw and across Lower Silesia build a community of research institutions<\/strong> that support one another and foster a cooperative scientific ecosystem<\/strong>.
And finally, on a personal note \u2014 the University of Wroc\u0142aw is my alma mater<\/strong>,\u201d said Dr. Andrzej Dybczy\u0144ski<\/strong>, Director of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Continuation of long-term cooperation<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The doctoral school marks another stage in the long-standing collaboration<\/strong> between \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT<\/strong> and the University of Wroc\u0142aw<\/strong> \u2014 one of the top ten research universities in Poland<\/strong>.
Their cooperation to date has included organizing scientific conferences<\/strong> and running internship and scholarship programs<\/strong> for university students.<\/p>

One of the participants in these programs, Kacper Prokop<\/strong>, a fifth-year Medical Chemistry student at the University of Wroc\u0142aw and a \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT scholarship holder, received the Student Nobel<\/strong> award in 2021 in the category of Natural Sciences and Energy<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Under the new agreement, Research Group Leaders<\/strong> working within the Research Centers of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT<\/strong> will be able to nominate candidates for the University of Wroc\u0142aw doctoral school<\/strong>.<\/p>
