\u201cScience is here, and we want to share it,\u201d<\/em> said Prof. Jaros\u0142aw Bosy, Director of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT, welcoming the international delegation of BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions. Members of BASF\u2019s regional boards visited Wroc\u0142aw to see firsthand how the BASF ECMS Academy educational program is implemented on site. The program has been jointly run for a year by \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT and BASF\u2019s plant in \u015aroda \u015al\u0105ska.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

To date, 323 students<\/strong> have taken part in free workshops at \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT, where they learned how automotive catalysts work and prepared catalyst samples themselves in the institute\u2019s laboratories.
\u201cThanks to our collaboration with BASF, children learn in a modern and engaging way. They come back to take part in more classes and continue exploring the world of science,\u201d<\/em> notes Marek Staniewicz<\/strong>, Director of the Department of the Social Responsibility of Science<\/strong> at \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT.<\/p>

During the visit, BASF representatives toured the laboratories where young science enthusiasts create catalyst samples. For workshop needs, the institute reproduced\u2014in microscale\u2014the production processes used at BASF\u2019s catalyst factory in \u015aroda \u015al\u0105ska. This gives participants a unique opportunity to observe how theory translates into practice.<\/p>

The guests emphasized that collaboration between science and industry is an investment in the future.
\u201cYoung people see that science helps solve real problems. We believe the best investment is an investment in education, which is why we want to share knowledge and inspire the next generation,\u201d<\/em> said Maciej \u015awierczy\u0144ski<\/strong>, Site & Community Relations Manager, EMEA at BASF.<\/p>

Anna Tarasewicz<\/strong>, Global HRBP & Board Member, BASF Catalyst Polska, added:

A new edition of the BASF ECMS Academy will soon start at \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT. This time, 400 students<\/strong> from grades 7\u20138 of primary schools and from high schools in Wroc\u0142aw and the surrounding area will participate. During the workshops, students will learn about modern environmental technologies and prepare their own catalyst samples using methods developed by BASF experts.<\/p>

Workshops are led by educators from Ogrody Do\u015bwiadcze\u0144 (Experience Gardens)<\/strong> at \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT. Participation is free of charge\u2014BASF funds the program as part of its long-term commitment to education and local community engagement.<\/p>

\u201cBoth sectors\u2014science and industry\u2014need well-educated, motivated young people. That\u2019s why our shared goal is to inspire them and prepare them for their future careers,\u201d<\/em> concludes Prof. Bosy<\/strong>.<\/p>
