The \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network, of which \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT is a part, has announced plans to create two thousand attractive jobs in the research and development sector over the next two years. This plan was officially unveiled during a conference held on 25 November at the \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PIMOT institute in Warsaw.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The development of scientific staff across the Network\u2019s institutes is intended, among other things, to better respond to the growing interest in the \u0141ukasiewicz Challenges programme. Over the past three years, experts from the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network have responded to nearly 2,000 challenges posed by entrepreneurs, helping them find innovative solutions to technological problems. More than 800 companies have already benefited from this unique support system.<\/p>

New innovators will join teams carrying out advanced research projects. They will include both internationally recognized scientists and engineers, as well as individuals just beginning their professional careers.<\/p>

\u201cWe want to and we can invest in the best people. We implement long-term talent development programmes, have the largest number of implementation PhD students in Poland, send our scientists on international research fellowships, and recently we have even been recruiting Olympiad winners who have just started working with us under the guidance of mentors,\u201d said Piotr Dardzi\u0144ski, President of the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network, during the conference.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki addressed the participants in a letter read out by Marlena Mal\u0105g, Minister of Family and Social Policy:<\/p>

\u201cI am convinced that working for Polish science and the economy, as offered by the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network, is not only attractive and can bring great satisfaction, but also sets forward-looking directions for development. Smart mobility, digital transformation, and a sustainable economy and energy\u2014areas that have become your domain\u2014are the right and future-oriented choices. That is why I welcome the long-term plans to employ promising Polish scientists, as such an investment is valuable and offers opportunities, especially for young people, to participate in fascinating projects,\u201d wrote the Prime Minister.<\/p>

\u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT was represented at the conference by Dr Andrzej Dybczy\u0144ski, Director of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT; Dr Micha\u0142 \u015al\u0119zak, leader of the Astrocyte Biology Research Team; Dr M. Danang Birowosuto, leader of the Photonic Materials and Structures Team; and Dr Heng-Chang Chen, Junior Principal Investigator at the Population Diagnostics Center. As representatives of an institute in which approximately 20% of the R&D staff are international employees, they took part in a panel discussion devoted to attracting (and re-attracting) top global scientists. During the discussion, they described how recruitment by an international panel of experts is conducted, why scientists from abroad choose to work at \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT, what research they carry out, and how they build their teams.<\/p>
