The Lower Silesian Science Festival is a popular science event aimed at presenting scientific achievements in an attractive and accessible form for a broad audience. This year, for the 25th time, universities, scientific and research institutes, as well as numerous educational and cultural institutions, will invite residents of Wroc\u0142aw and other cities of Lower Silesia to participate in lectures, demonstrations, workshops, and excursions.<\/p>

A special program of educational activities for the younger part of the festival audience has been prepared by the PORT Technology Education Center \u2013 Gardens of Experience<\/strong> at \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT. On 19\/09\/2022<\/strong> and 20\/09\/2022<\/strong>, we will invite school-age children to workshops at our Institute.<\/p>

\u2013 \u201cSnakes in the Rain\u201d<\/strong> are activities designed for the youngest primary school students (grades 0\u20133). Participants will learn about chemical substances which, when properly combined, allow the creation of imaginative, spiral structures resembling snakes. They will also find out whether rain can be colorful. The workshops will take place on Monday, 19\/09\/2022<\/strong>, from 9:00\u201310:00<\/strong> and 11:00\u201312:00<\/strong>. Number of participants: 30 per session<\/strong>.<\/p>

\u2013 The \u201cTypes of Bioplastics\u201d<\/strong> workshops were designed for students in grades 4\u20138. Participants will independently produce different types of bioplastics, learn about their composition and properties\u2014especially biodegradability. They will also learn how important it is for the environment to use alternative, safe types of materials. The workshops will take place on Tuesday, 20\/09\/2022<\/strong>, from 9:00\u201310:00<\/strong> (grades 4\u20136, number of participants: 30<\/strong>) and 11:00\u201312:00<\/strong> (grades 7\u20138, number of participants: 15<\/strong>).<\/p>
