The end of August at \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT will be marked by fantastic meetings and journeys into the unknown. All thanks to the oldest Lower Silesian festival dedicated to fantasy, which this year will be hosted as a guest event at the Pracze Campus<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Dni Fantastyki<\/strong> is the oldest Lower Silesian festival dedicated to fantasy. Every year, over the course of several festival days, a festival town filled with reenactment villages, shows, and concerts is visited by approximately 10,000 people<\/strong>. The event is aimed at fans of fantasy themes in literature and film, manga, anime, board games, computer games, and RPGs, as well as everyone interested in pop culture. This year\u2019s edition will take place on 20\/08\/2024\u201325\/08\/2024<\/strong>.<\/p>

The organizers of Dni Fantastyki<\/strong> are the Creative Attitudes Center Zamek<\/strong>, the Guild of Organizers Association<\/strong>, and the Tadeusz R\u00f3\u017cewicz Municipal Public Library in Wroc\u0142aw<\/strong>. In 2024, the research institute \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT<\/strong> joined this group as an institutional partner.<\/p>

Reason for the Change of Location<\/h2>

The change of the festival location is due to the planned renovation of the terraces and underground areas of the Creative Attitudes Center Zamek.<\/p>

\u2013 The decision to allocate funds for the renovation of OPT Zamek was made during the City Council session in December 2023. We already know that PLN 5,350,000 will be allocated for this purpose. The tender will be launched today or within the next few days<\/em> \u2013 said Bart\u0142omiej Ci\u0105\u017cy\u0144ski<\/strong>, Deputy Mayor of Wroc\u0142aw, during a press meeting at \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT.<\/p>

\u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT in a New Role<\/h2>

The new location of the festival town will be the Pracze Campus<\/strong>.<\/p>

\u2013 As part of the cooperation between OPT Zamek and \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT, we were pleased to decide to host \u201cDni Fantastyki\u201d on our campus<\/em> \u2013 said Dr. hab. Eng. Alicja Bachmatiuk<\/strong>, Director of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT, during a meeting with journalists on 11\/04\/2024<\/strong>. \u2013 The Pracze Campus, rich in greenery and history, is well suited to organizing events that require a unique setting. \u201cDni Fantastyki\u201d will be the first undertaking of this scale during which our Institute\u2014on a daily basis a workplace for researchers\u2014will open to the general public, giving festival participants the opportunity to get to know this place from a different, not only scientific, perspective<\/em> \u2013 added Dr. hab. Eng. Alicja Bachmatiuk<\/strong>.<\/p>

For several years, \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT has been implementing a mission of the social responsibility of science<\/strong>, which aligns perfectly with the idea of Dni Fantastyki<\/strong>.<\/p>

\u2013 Science can have many dimensions. Research and development are not everything. Popularizing scientific achievements and science itself is equally important. \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT has been fulfilling this mission for several years, and thanks to the festival, even more people will hear about it<\/em> \u2013 says Marek Staniewicz<\/strong>, Director of the Department of the Social Responsibility of Science<\/strong> at \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT.<\/p>

Attractions of This Year\u2019s Edition<\/h2>

The leading theme of Dni Fantastyki 2024<\/strong> will be journeys into the unknown. Participants can look forward to numerous competitions, lectures, panel discussions, and meetings with authors and influencers, taking place both at \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 PORT<\/strong> and at the Mediateka<\/strong>.<\/p>
