The main goal of the project titled \u201cUniversity Center for Digital and Precision Medicine Specializing in Comprehensive Phenotyping of Civilization Diseases\u201d<\/em> is to establish a Regional Center for Digital Medicine (RCMC)<\/strong> \u2013 a structure that integrates databases and resources (personnel, infrastructure, and software) of:<\/p>

  • University Clinical Hospital in Opole<\/strong> \u2013 Consortium Leader<\/p><\/li>

  • \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network \u2013 PORT (Polish Center for Technology Development; Biobank)<\/strong><\/p><\/li>

  • Institute of Human Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences (IGC PAS)<\/strong><\/p><\/li>

  • Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences \u2013 Pozna\u0144 Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC)<\/strong><\/p><\/li>

  • University of Opole<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    The project involves the creation of the RCMC<\/strong> and the conduct of scientific research<\/strong> based on the data and processes functioning within the newly established structure. In the long term, the RCMC will serve as a research and development platform<\/strong> that increases the number and potential of clinical (CR)<\/strong>, biomedical translational<\/strong>, and basic research<\/strong> projects. The research carried out during the project will focus on personalized medicine<\/strong>, using the latest scientific and technological innovations.<\/p>

    The project will be implemented by a consortium of five entities, each contributing unique expertise and competencies in medicine, science, and technology. The consortium\u2019s joint, coordinated actions and goals will enable the execution of complex scientific and research initiatives. The objective is to establish the infrastructure, systems, and personnel base<\/strong> necessary to conduct innovative and unique R&D activities, as well as to create favorable conditions for the development of innovative pharmaceutical, digital, and medical technologies<\/strong> applicable to healthcare.<\/p>

    The prepared infrastructure will enable the design of clinical studies<\/strong> or their components using the accumulated datasets. The collected data will form the basis for developing digital tools<\/strong> with prognostic, predictive, diagnostic, and therapeutic<\/strong> applications. These tools will be based on an intelligent database query system<\/strong> and self-learning artificial intelligence algorithms<\/strong>.<\/p>

    Within the research program led by the University Clinical Hospital in Opole<\/strong>, the main focus will be on cardiovascular diseases<\/strong> and morbid obesity<\/strong>. One of the research areas will involve spatial phenotyping<\/strong>, which aims to identify multiple cell populations and their interactions using a single histopathological tissue section.<\/p>

    In addition, the Biobank Research Group<\/strong> will work on identifying bacteria in tissues in situ<\/strong> using the latest molecular pathology technologies<\/strong>, and\u2014through AI-driven integration<\/strong>\u2014will combine genomic, histopathological, and molecular imaging data<\/strong>. The research will be conducted in collaboration with the other consortium partners from Pozna\u0144<\/strong> and Opole<\/strong> research centers.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
