The goal of this project is to understand how antisense transcripts of the HIV virus<\/strong> (which causes AIDS) disrupt the transcription of sense RNA<\/strong>, driven by the repeated sequences located at the 5\u2032 end of the HIV genome<\/strong>, and how they subsequently promote the establishment of HIV latency<\/strong>.<\/p>

Another important aim is to advance knowledge about antisense RNA transcription and gene expression<\/strong>. Fundamentally, this work will represent a significant conceptual breakthrough<\/strong> in translational research<\/strong> with potential commercial and therapeutic value<\/strong>, as it seeks to evaluate the therapeutic potential of ectopic overexpression of HIV antisense transcripts<\/strong> as a novel target in HIV-1 infection treatment<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
