data-end=\"800\"><strong data-start=\"755\" data-end=\"800\">Grupa Azoty Zak\u0142ady Azotowe \u201cPu\u0142awy\u201d S.A.<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"807\" data-end=\"1061\">The goal of the project is to obtain bio-succinic acid (BSA) through high-yield, \u201cclean\u201d biocatalysis using <em data-start=\"915\" data-end=\"929\">Enterobacter<\/em> bacteria. This process also enables the use of renewable and waste feedstocks that have no application in other industrial sectors.<\/p><p data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1368\">According to the U.S. Department of Energy, succinic acid is considered a biotransformation product of strategic importance for the biotechnology and chemical industries. Currently, it is primarily derived from fossil fuels, but it can be produced using environmentally friendly \u201cgreen chemistry\u201d methods.<\/p><p data-start=\"1370\" data-end=\"1681\">The commercial value of bio-succinic acid and the number of its potential applications in the chemical industry continue to grow. However, despite intensive research, the production efficiency of bio-succinic acid remains insufficient, and the limitations of existing methods significantly reduce profitability.<\/p><p data-start=\"1683\" data-end=\"1905\">The aim of the project is to develop a proprietary technology for producing bio-succinic acid based on promising research results on the <em data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"1834\">Enterobacter<\/em> sp. LU1 strain. Advantages of this strain and related strains include:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1907\" data-end=\"2047\"><li data-start=\"1907\" data-end=\"1951\"><p data-start=\"1909\" data-end=\"1951\">the ability to utilize waste feedstocks,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1952\" data-end=\"1977\"><p data-start=\"1954\" data-end=\"1977\">low production costs,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1978\" data-end=\"2010\"><p data-start=\"1980\" data-end=\"2010\">inexpensive cultivation, and<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2011\" data-end=\"2047\"><p data-start=\"2013\" data-end=\"2047\">low downstream purification costs.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2049\" data-end=\"2267\">During the industrial research phase, the natural metabolic pathways of <em data-start=\"2121\" data-end=\"2135\">Enterobacter<\/em> bacteria will be modified using genetic engineering. Bio-succinic acid production will then be validated through <strong data-start=\"2249\" data-end=\"2266\">flux analysis<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"2269\" data-end=\"2395\">In the development phase, production and scale-up to a 100-liter bioreactor will be optimized using the most efficient strain.<\/p><p data-start=\"2397\" data-end=\"2696\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Potential recipients of bio-succinic acid include Grupa Azoty Pu\u0142awy and the broader Polish chemical industry.
