Project

Learning Through Experience – OGRODSON

Project No.: POPUL/SN/0336/2023/01
Project value: PLN 848,670.00
Funding amount: PLN 750,000.00
Project duration: 01/11/2023 – 31/10/2025
Project Manager: Marek Staniewicz

The main goal of the project is to leverage the potential of the research center to promote science. The planned activities aim to develop opportunities for modern and creative learning methods. Another objective is to ensure that the scientific community is seen as friendly and accessible to a wider audience – including those who normally do not have the opportunity to directly participate in scientific processes.

This applies particularly to educational workshops, which are designed to inspire some of today’s students to pursue scientific careers in the future. A natural extension of these workshops will be training sessions for teachers and education professionals, conducted by our educators.

In doing so, we aim to support teachers in their daily educational work and provide them with recommendations for modern teaching methods that incorporate the latest scientific achievements. This ensures a natural and unrestricted development of the teaching process for all participants – both students and teachers.

One of our core principles is to connect scientific research with its practical, real-world applications.

During the workshops, each student – and similarly, each teacher participating in training – will have the opportunity to explore what science is today, understand its goals, its directions of development, and learn what skills are required to become a scientist. Importantly, the program is designed to align with general education objectives implemented in schools.

Our intention is for students, through their participation, to grasp the mechanisms of acquiring scientific knowledge, particularly in biology, physics, chemistry, and related sciences. We aim to demonstrate the importance of the practical aspect of learning in the cognitive process, helping students – with the support of teachers – to develop a holistic understanding of the world.

The project is co-funded by the State Budget, awarded by the Minister of Education and Science under the “Social Responsibility of Science II” Program.
