JOB DESCRIPTION-
Support in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of the Animal Facility Department;
High-level support for the PORT Institute research groups and service for external clients;
Ensuring appropriate conditions for the housing and protection of laboratory animals;
Supervision of personnel responsible for animal care within the organization;
Oversight of the welfare of animals housed in the animal facility;
Compliance with applicable regulations related to the operation of the animal facility within the organization;
Compliance with work discipline, labor law regulations, internal rules, procedures, and guidelines in force within the organization, as well as occupational health and safety regulations;
Work according to a schedule, including Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
Master’s degree, preferably in veterinary medicine, animal science, biology, or related fields.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in supervising animal welfare and care in a research facility.
Completed training in the care of animals intended for or used in scientific procedures.
Completed training in supervising staff responsible for animal care.
Completed training in methods of euthanasia for animals used in procedures.
Knowledge of the Act on the Protection of Animals Used for Scientific or Educational Purposes.
Ability to work in a team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proactivity and the ability to adapt to change;
Meticulousness and the ability to work independently;
Knowledge of breeding programs;
Good command of MS Office 365;
Knowledge of English at a level enabling fluent communication.
An additional asset will be completed training:
for persons participating in the performance of experimental procedures;
for persons performing procedures.
