Łukasiewicz Research Network – PORT Polish Center for Technology Development

The goal of this scientific activity is to generate and characterize bound states in the continuum (BIC-type photonic states) in perovskite-based nanostructures using angle-resolved photoluminescence. This method enables experimental mapping of the photonic crystal band structure and provides insight into the coupling of light emission into modes observable in the far field—an important characteristic for emissive systems.

Within this activity, an angle-resolved photoluminescence measurement setup will be constructed and subsequently used to characterize light-emitting systems in which the active medium is a thin, structured layer containing CsPbBr₃ quantum dots—a modern perovskite-family material attracting substantial scientific interest due to its outstanding luminescent properties, including high quantum efficiency. The research task planned within this activity aims to lay the groundwork for a larger research project for which the Applicant intends to seek funding in the near future (e.g., the next edition of the SONATA call).
