The development of a passive anti-icing system that does not require energy to operate is essential for many areas of life and industry. The objective of the project is to develop a manufacturing technology for superhydrophobic coatings that delay the freezing of water droplets on their surface, and to investigate their effectiveness.
The developed coatings will demonstrate high performance under variable atmospheric conditions without the need for electrical power. The resulting technology will be easily scalable for industrial application. The proposed research program has a strongly application-oriented character, with clearly defined practical goals and end users (the aviation and energy industries). The research also carries significant scientific value.
