Project No.: SONP/SP/5 14380/2021
Total project value: 354,948.88 PLN
Total funding: 319,454.00 PLN
Project implementation period: 15/12/2021 – 15/12/2023
Project leader: Marek Staniewicz
The main objective of the project is to promote scientific research and its outcomes through educational programs based on hands-on experimentation. These activities enable children and young people to experience what working in a scientific laboratory looks like in practice. By engaging directly with researchers from Łukasiewicz – PORT—who work daily at the Pracze Campus—participants of the workshops will be able to enter the world of science, technology, and the natural sciences. The proposed workshops, educational research cycles, and meetings will introduce children, young people, and adults to the scientific domain, demonstrating its importance and relevance to society. They will also show the methods and nature of scientific work, its responsibility, and the individual elements of the research process.
The strategic aim of the project is to leverage the potential of research infrastructure to promote science based on the results generated by Łukasiewicz – PORT researchers. The planned activities are designed to ensure the effective transfer of knowledge to society—especially young people—and to foster creative learning approaches that enhance awareness of the importance of science in social life. Additionally, the project aims to change the stereotypical perception of the scientific community as isolated or detached from everyday societal realities. A key objective is to engage the largest possible audience in initiatives focused on disseminating research findings in the fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and health sciences.
