Science Picnic at Łukasiewicz – PORT

Enter the world of science with us! Łukasiewicz – PORT invites you to a family science picnic to be held on Sunday, 9 October, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Pracze Campus.

A wide range of activities will be available for participants, including:

  • workshops and scientific demonstrations prepared by the PORT Technology Education Center – Gardens of Experience,

  • a popular science lecture entitled “Why Do We Need Genetics?” delivered by Dr Michał Malewicz, Director of the Life Sciences and Biotechnology Center at Łukasiewicz – PORT (1:00 p.m., Room 0.27, Building C),

  • guided tours of laboratories where scientists work on new technologies, including the electron microscopy laboratory and the clean room (from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., every 30 minutes; groups of up to 10 people).

The programme will also include many additional attractions:

  • a stand of the Pracze Odrzańskie District Council,

  • demonstrations by the Police, Municipal Guard, and a military unit,

  • a Fire Brigade fire engine,

  • an MPK stand and a historic “Ogórek” bus,

  • a Lower Silesian Railways stand,

  • a stand of emergency services with an ambulance,

  • a stand of the Lower Silesian Innovation and Science Park,

  • educational games by the Creative Thinking Studio and meetings with robots,

  • a stand of The Climb Language Center,

  • an e-waste collection organized by Ekosystem,

  • a Chemeko stand,

  • a food zone with food trucks.
