Preschools

Educational workshops organized by Łukasiewicz – PORT for preschoolers are a colorful and emotional journey into the world of science. During the classes, children have the opportunity to experiment independently, observe natural phenomena, and ask questions that lead to discoveries.

In a safe and friendly environment, the youngest participants learn through play, developing curiosity, creativity, and cooperation skills. The activities are tailored to the children’s age, and the instructors ensure that every experiment is understandable and fascinating.

Super-Strong Soap Bubbles

Why does water spread across the surface of some objects, while on others it forms large droplets? How can some animals and objects stay afloat on the surface of water while humans sink straight to the bottom? The answer includes the phenomena of hydrophobicity and hydrophilicity, which participants will discover in practice during the classes. Additionally, they will learn how to use these phenomena to create more durable soap bubbles.

Spectacular Weather

Rain, snow, thunderstorms, lightning. What connects them? Are rain and acid rain the same phenomenon? And what do volcanoes have to do with it? During the workshop in our laboratory, young scientists will explore these and many other questions. They will also learn how objects of different densities behave, discover the phenomenon of electrification of bodies, and… create their own snowstorms. It will be spectacular!

Slimy Senses

Smell, sight, touch, hearing — just a few of our senses! But what about super-sticky liquids or vinyl polymers? Sounds mysterious? During this workshop, participants will run sensory experiments in the lab and finish by creating their very own slime to take home. Fun guaranteed!

Colorful Madness

Primary and secondary colors — what is the difference between them? Participants will have the chance to test this themselves by mixing them during the workshop. They will use the created colors to make their own colorful drawings. With the help of colors, they will also observe an impressive way to distinguish an acid from a base. The workshop will end with a bang — an eruption of a colorful foam volcano!

The project is co-funded by the State budget, granted by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Republic of Poland under the program “Social Responsibility of Science II”, pursuant to agreement no. POPUL/SN/0336/2023/01 dated October 9, 2023.
