The development of interdisciplinary research, support for young scientists and PhD students, and closer cooperation between science and industry are the key goals behind the institute’s accession to the Max Born Wrocław Research Alliance.
The alliance was established in November 2025 by Wrocław University of Science and Technology, the Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy (Polish Academy of Sciences), and the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research (Polish Academy of Sciences). The alliance is named after Max Born – an outstanding physicist and mathematician associated with Wrocław, a recipient of the 1954 Nobel Prize in Physics, and one of the founders of quantum mechanics.
Łukasiewicz – PORT is joining the alliance to collaborate with its partners in the development of scientific research, including interdisciplinary and applied research, to intensify knowledge and technology transfer, and to build stronger links between science and the socio-economic environment. The parties also see potential in applying jointly for national and international funding.
As part of the alliance, inter-institutional research teams are planned – in particular interdisciplinary teams and those involving young researchers – along with improved access for partners to research infrastructure and the organization of scientific and science-popularization events.
