What's new at Łukasiewicz – PORT?

19/02 marks Polish Science Day. On this occasion, the Minister of Education and Science presented awards to outstanding scholars and individuals who contribute to the development of science in Poland. Among the award recipients was Dr. Andrzej Dybczyński, President of the Łukasiewicz Research Network and, until recently, Director of Łukasiewicz – PORT.
Łukasiewicz – PORT Polish Center for Technology Development has a new director. On 14 February 2023, the position was assumed by Dr hab. Eng. Alicja Bachmatiuk. The previous director, Dr Andrzej Dybczyński, has been appointed President of the Łukasiewicz Research Network.
The PORT Technology Education Center – Gardens of Experience invites families to spend their winter holidays with science from 20–24 February 2023. Registration has opened for free workshops for children accompanied by their caregivers.
Support the popularization of science and the education of children and young people by donating 1.5% of your tax to the Foundation of the Polish Center for Technology Development.
How are colors created? What is spherification? Is it possible to protect the Earth from being overwhelmed by plastic waste? Answers to these and many other questions await young explorers in the laboratories of Łukasiewicz – PORT. A new program of activities offered by the PORT Technology Education Center – Gardens of Experience has been launched. Reservations for free workshops for school and preschool groups are now open.

The year 2022 is now behind us. For Łukasiewicz – PORT, it was an intensive period marked by many important events. We would like to recall the most significant of them.
The third implementation PhD at Łukasiewicz – PORT has been successfully defended. Congratulations to Dr Anna Siudzińska, who defended her dissertation entitled “In situ Studies of Interactions Between Two-Dimensional Materials and an Electron Beam in a Transmission Electron Microscope.”
The Industry Contact Point for Medical Technologies and Health at Łukasiewicz – PORT invites you to a free online training session dedicated to the opportunities offered by instruments supporting wider participation and strengthening the European Research Area.
Six researchers from Łukasiewicz – PORT have been awarded grants in competitions organized by the National Science Centre (NCN): OPUS 23, PRELUDIUM 21, and POLONEZ BIS 2.
