The aim of the project is to develop innovative sensory labels using organic dyes. The resulting indicators will provide information about the storage conditions of a product—for example, whether the cold chain (2–8°C) has been maintained. By applying organic compounds from different chemical groups, it will be possible to monitor multiple storage parameters. A color change in the dye will directly inform the end user about any irregularities during storage.
At the same time, the consumer will receive immediate and clear feedback on whether the product has been stored under optimal conditions, ensuring its highest quality. The proposed labels will be characterized by a distinct color change after exceeding a specific temperature, humidity, or storage time threshold.
Additionally, the project envisions the development of multi-field labels—capable of indicating changes in all three parameters mentioned above—and/or single-parameter stickers monitoring only one selected condition.
The proposed label-based solution will provide a simple and low-cost alternative to currently used RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) systems.
