Six researchers from Łukasiewicz – PORT have been awarded grants in competitions organized by the National Science Centre (NCN): OPUS 23, PRELUDIUM 21, and POLONEZ BIS 2.
Through projects submitted both individually and in consortia with other research institutions, scientists from our Institute secured a total of more than PLN 7 million to carry out research in the fields of materials engineering and life sciences.
Awarded projects:
“Functions of the Amotl2 Protein in the Central Nervous System”
Principal Investigator: Dr hab. Tomasz Prószyński
Project funded under the OPUS 23 call.“Development of Light-Emitting Perovskite Dressings for Accelerated Wound Healing”
Principal Investigator: Dr Somnath Mahato
Project funded under the POLONEZ BIS 2 call.“Arsenic-Diluted Gallium Nitride Compounds with High As Content Grown by Metal-Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition”
Principal Investigator: Wojciech Olszewski
Project funded under the PRELUDIUM 21 call.“Investigation of Ionogels Doped with Organic Dyes as New Potential Thermochromic Markers”
Principal Investigator: Maria Zdończyk
Project funded under the PRELUDIUM 21 call.
Consortium projects involving Łukasiewicz – PORT:
“Genetics of Behavioral Traits Dependent on Glucocorticoid Receptor Activity”
Consortium partner: Jerzy Maja Institute of Pharmacology, Polish Academy of Sciences
Łukasiewicz – PORT representative: Dr Michał Ślęzak
Project funded under the OPUS 23 call.“Hybrid Photovoltaic Detectors Based on van der Waals/(Al)GaN Junctions”
Consortium partner: Wrocław University of Science and Technology
Łukasiewicz – PORT representative: Prof. Detlef Hommel
Project funded under the OPUS 23 call.
The National Science Centre supports basic research by funding research projects and scientific activities through competitive calls. In the recently concluded NCN competitions—OPUS 23, PRELUDIUM 21, and POLONEZ BIS 2—researchers will receive nearly PLN 491 million to conduct basic research.
The OPUS call is open to researchers at all stages of their careers. A project leader must have at least one published or accepted-for-publication paper, or— in the case of arts—at least one artistic or artistic-scientific achievement. A scientific degree is not required.
PRELUDIUM supports the development of early-career researchers by enabling them to gain experience in managing a research project prior to obtaining a doctoral degree. The project topic may, but does not have to, be related to the planned doctoral dissertation.
POLONEZ BIS is a grant programme for researchers coming to Poland from abroad. It is intended for individuals who hold a doctoral degree or have at least four years of full-time research experience. In the three years preceding the opening date of the call, applicants must not have resided, been employed, or studied in Poland for more than a total of 12 months.
Congratulations to all the awardees!
