Aliens in Space – Scientific Truth and Science Fiction (lecture)
The Alien film series is a classic of science fiction depicting encounters with extraterrestrial life. Could such a meeting really happen? What might alien life forms look like? You will hear answers to these questions during the lecture. Scientific truth versus science fiction—which one wins? The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Michał Malewicz, biotechnologist and leader of the Genome Dynamics Research Group.
For more information about Dr. Michał Malewicz’s scientific and research activities, please visit the group’s webpage.

What Floats Won’t Sink
Throw a stone and a rubber duck into water—the stone will sink, and the duck will float. Humans and animals, on the other hand, can swim or dive when they choose. How is that possible? Participants will learn about the factors that determine how objects behave in water, and then use their new knowledge to create a colorful water tower.

The Fragrant Laboratory
How does our sense of smell work? We will investigate this in the Fragrant Laboratory. During the workshop, participants will learn what essential oils are, how they are obtained, and what properties they have. They will also discover the secrets of perfume creation. We will ensure that participants gain not only new knowledge but also practical skills—each will prepare their own perfume sample to take home.
We also invite you to visit our Experience Gardens stand, promoting science and accompanying Fantasy Days. At the stand, we will present:
The World Under the Microscope
Welcome to a fascinating macro world. Participants will have the opportunity to work with a microscope and observe what cannot be seen with the naked eye.
Color Mixing
Participants will embark on an exciting journey through the world of primary and secondary colors, learning the principles of color blending.
