Industry Contact Point Medical Technologies and Health
We provide comprehensive support for researchers and entrepreneurs in the medical technology and healthcare sectors in securing funding from the Horizon Europe program. The goal of the Industry Contact Point for Medical Technologies and Health (ICP MTH) is to foster the development of innovative research and the implementation of breakthrough technological solutions by facilitating access to European grant instruments. .
The scope of our activities includes:
- assisting in identifying suitable international partners for project collaboration,
- representing Polish institutions at matchmaking and brokerage events,
- organizing thematic trainings and workshops,
- providing individual consultations during the preparation of project proposals.
How Can We Help?
The National Contact Point for Medical Technologies and Health focuses on key research and development areas such as coordinated healthcare and telemedicine, bioinformatics and digital tools supporting therapeutic processes, modern and personalized diagnostics, biomedical engineering and protein therapies, as well as the development of innovative materials for medical applications and advanced technologies for the manufacturing of medicinal products, including advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs).
The Horizon Europe Program is the largest research and innovation funding program in the history of the European Union. With a budget of €95.5 billion for the years 2021–2027, it offers extensive funding opportunities for projects with high development and implementation potential.

The ICP MTH services are available to: research institutes, universities, public administration entities, large enterprises, SMEs, start-ups, associations, foundations, and international organizations interested in implementing research and innovation projects in the field of health and medical technologies.
Team members
Dr. Monika Ślęzak
Monika joined Łukasiewicz – PORT in March 2022 as Coordinator of the Industry Contact Point for Medical Technologies and Health. She has over 10 years of research experience in molecular and cellular biology within the drug and vaccine development field, with a particular focus on preclinical studies, including in vitro and animal models such as mice and zebrafish.
She earned her PhD in 2009 from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the genotoxic effects of acute carbon monoxide poisoning in humans. Since 2008, she has been involved in managing research projects funded by the European Union, including Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, IMI, and IHI programs, serving as both project manager and research project leader. Since 2023, she has acted as an evaluator for competitions organized by the European Commission.
Her professional experience includes roles as project leader and senior scientist at Selvita S.A., one of the largest drug discovery companies in Central Europe, based in Kraków, as well as positions at the Molecular Biodiscovery Lab at KU Leuven in Belgium and the European Vaccine Initiative eV in Heidelberg, Germany.
She completed postgraduate studies in project management and research commercialization at the Cracow University of Economics (2011) and obtained the IPMA Project Manager Associate certificate the same year. In 2018, she completed specialized training in Good Clinical Practice through the CRA Training program at Pharmaakademie in Mannheim.
Dr. Marta Duda-Sikuła
Marta joined Łukasiewicz – PORT in January 2025. She is a manager with extensive experience in planning and managing clinical research. She earned a degree in English philology (2008) and a degree in psychology with honors (2009) from the University of Wrocław, and in 2013, she obtained an MBA with distinction from Franklin University in Ohio. In 2019, she completed postgraduate studies in clinical research at the Jagiellonian University Medical College.
For over ten years, she has conducted scientific research on neurological and neurodegenerative diseases, focusing on the psychosocial aspects of patient care and support for formal and informal caregivers. She has gained experience leading international projects funded through programs including Horizon 2020, JPND, and EJP RD. In 2023, she earned a PhD in medical and health sciences from Wrocław Medical University, receiving a grant for outstanding doctoral candidates under the MNiSW Regional Excellence Initiative.
She serves as an evaluator for European Commission initiatives and as a reviewer for the journal Advances in Clinical and Experimental Medicine. Passionate about sharing knowledge, she is also an academic teacher, combining a psychological perspective with project management practice to support innovative solutions in healthcare.
In 2025, she completed the prestigious Design Thinking and Innovation course at Harvard Business School Online, applying these methods in collaboration with entities associated with the Industry Contact Point for Medical Technologies and Health.
Monika Marciniak-Madeyska
Monika works in the Project Accounting Department at Łukasiewicz – PORT, focusing on the sustainability of R&D projects. She is also involved with the Industry Contact Point for Medical Technologies and Health as an administrator and is responsible for informational and promotional activities on social media and the BPK website (both Łukasiewicz – PORT and BPK Horizon Europe sites), related to Horizon Europe competitions in medical and health technologies and innovation support instruments. She also participates in organizing specialized trainings, workshops, and matchmaking/networking/brokering events.
She completed the Horizon Europe Framework Programme Manager Academy organized by the National Contact Point for EU Research Programmes.
Aleksandra Szwaja
Aleksandra is a specialist in securing European funding for research and innovation projects carried out in international partnerships, with particular expertise in medicine, biotechnology, and materials engineering. She supports scientific teams, public institutions, and companies in preparing projects funded by EU programs, including Horizon Europe, MSCA, EIC, ERC, and WIDERA initiatives.
She currently works at Łukasiewicz – PORT as Senior Specialist for International Projects in the Project Acquisition Department and as an expert at the Industry Contact Point for Medical Technologies and Health.
She provides comprehensive application support – from aligning project concepts with funding instruments to preparing documentation and coordinating with international partners. She holds a PRINCE2 certification.
