Let’s give a smile for Christmas

Charity collection of Łukasiewicz – PORT employees

We invite all employees of our Institute to join the charity collection for 10-year-old Kuba and his family from Stablowice!

WHO DO WE HELP?

10-year-old Kuba is a joyful and energetic boy. He was born with cerebral palsy and congenital multi-organ defects. He also suffers from epilepsy. Even though doctors announced that he would not live longer than two years, he has been bravely fighting every day for ten years. His mother, Ms. Kamila, fights for it equally bravely.

We met with Ms. Kamila at her home to learn more about the situation and needs of her family. There is one conclusion from this meeting. Ms. Kamila is a real heroine! As a single mother, she struggles with the heavy reality with great determination to provide a decent life for her two children – a sick son and an adolescent daughter. Even though Kuba requires specialized care, she has started working and is looking for additional activities that will allow her to fill the gaps in her household budget, at least to a small extent. Then, his sixteen-year-old sister Amelia takes care of Kuba. At the same time, although it is not easy for her, Ms. Kamila helps others – she organizes collections for retirement homes and hospices. She also adopted two homeless cats.

As you can easily guess, the costs of the boy’s rehabilitation and maintaining a family of three are very high. During our meeting, Ms. Kamila admitted that her needs far exceed her capabilities. Therefore, although she does not ask for help, she gratefully accepts it. He cannot count on family support.

Believing that, at our Institute, there are many hearts open to help, we decided to organize a collection for Ms. Kamila’s family. The collected funds we will use to purchase the most necessary everyday items (diapers, pads, hygiene products) and home appliances, the most important of which are a new bed for Kuba, a refrigerator, pots, and a microwave oven.

WHY DID WE CHOOSE THIS FAMILY?

Ms. Kamila’s situation was brought to our attention by the head of the primary school her older daughter attended. During the meeting, we identified basic needs, the fulfillment of which will significantly improve the quality of life of the entire family. After receiving the consent of the Director of our Institute to organize the collection, we warmly invite you to support it with any amount. Every zloty is worth its weight in gold – the more we collect, the more needs we will meet!
