New Edition of the WIB Competition

On December 3, 2024, the Virtual Research Institute (WIB) announced the fourth competition for innovative research projects with high commercialization potential, allocating PLN 142 million for this initiative. The program is aimed at research teams working in the field of medical biotechnology, developing new technologies to introduce innovative drugs and medical therapies to the market.
Funding and Support
The WIB program, managed by the Łukasiewicz – PORT Research Institute in Wrocław, is funded by the Polish Science Fund. It offers not only five years of financial support but also significant shares in the profits from the commercialization of research results. The goal of the program is to connect science with business in a mutually beneficial way and to enhance the competitiveness of the Polish biotechnology industry on the international stage.
Statement from the Director of Łukasiewicz – PORT
“We are launching the fourth edition of the competition, inviting research teams specializing in medical biotechnology and developing therapeutic applications in all areas of medicine,” says Prof. Jarosław Bosy, Director of Łukasiewicz – PORT. “The WIB program is undoubtedly a great opportunity for Polish scientists to secure research funding, develop a more business-oriented mindset, and gain broader recognition. As in previous competitions, we continue to emphasize the high commercialization potential of projects,” he adds.
