Seminar: Application of AI techniques in medical imaging
As part of the SAME-NeuroID project, which aims to develop more effective diagnostic and therapeutic methods for psychiatric patients, a scientific seminar entitled Application of AI techniques in medical imaging has been scheduled. The seminar will take place on March 27 at 2:00 PM and will be led by Dr. Martin Tabakow, a researcher at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, specializing in the analysis and processing of medical images using advanced artificial intelligence techniques.

During the seminar, Dr. Tabakow will provide an introduction to machine learning, with particular emphasis on deep learning methods, which have gained significant popularity in the field of digital imaging in recent years. Participants will learn about the key reasons behind the growing interest in these techniques and the potential they hold for the future of medical diagnostics.
The lecture will also address the limitations of medical data, which present a major challenge in training AI models. Dr. Tabakow will discuss possible scenarios for the application of artificial intelligence in clinical practice and the changes that could occur in standard diagnostic pathways if these technologies are implemented on a larger scale.
The seminar will conclude with a case study demonstrating the use of deep learning techniques in the analysis of data from capsule endoscopy – a modern, non-invasive method of diagnosing the gastrointestinal tract, which may benefit significantly from automated image analysis.
Dr. Martin Tabakow is the author of numerous scientific publications in the field of medical image processing. His research focuses on the application of fuzzy techniques and artificial intelligence methods in medical diagnostics.
