Competencies of the future: leadership and adaptation in the age of artificial intelligence
What skills will be crucial in the next decades? How is artificial intelligence changing the job market and the role of leaders?
We are living in a time of technological revolution, where the ability to adapt to ever-changing conditions, including professional ones, is of exceptional importance. The competencies required in the future were discussed by participants of a conference organized on February 26 by Łukasiewicz – PORT in cooperation with the German-Polish Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Chamber’s Regional Office in Wrocław.
Experts from the world of business, science and representatives of public institutions debated how they can better prepare for the challenges of tomorrow and the rapidly changing work environment. It is predicted that artificial intelligence will affect 40% of professions. Speakers and participants in the panel discussion agreed that the leading competencies of the future sought by employers will be emotional intelligence and emotion management, proactivity and innovation, and critical thinking. A business coach Tomasz Gordon spoke about how to develop these competencies. Employers’ expectations in the perspective of change were presented by Ałła Witwicka-Dudek, director of the Center for Business Cooperation from the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business. The results of the report on professions of the future were presented by business representatives Marta Kozak and Kacper Grabowski. Paweł Kurant, deputy director of Łukasiewicz – PORT, spoke about the cooperation between science and business and the BASF ECMS Competence Academy program implemented at the institute.
Adapting to technology and the needs of the labor market was the topic of discussion by panelists: Prof. Jarosław Bosy – director of Łukasiewicz – PORT, Ałła Witwicka-Dudek, Konrad Schampera from the Schampera, Dubis, Zając and Partners Law Firm, Sylwia Balasa – director of the Training and Development Division at Kaufland Poland Markets, and Kacper Pupin – co-founder of Redegate.
Developing cooperation between scientists, entrepreneurs and society is one of the goals of the Łukasiewicz Research Network’s activities included in its strategy. Joint discussions about the changing conditions on the labor market at a time of intensive development of AI help representatives of both science and business prepare for the new reality.
