OUTSTANDING SCIENTIST AT ŁUKASIEWICZ – PORT
A world-renowned specialist in the field of solid-state chemistry and coordination chemistry, prof. Gerd Meyer, guest of the Łukasiewicz – PORT. A scientist from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm is a laureate of the Alexander von Humboldt Research Scholarship by the Foundation for Polish Science.
Prof. Gerd Meyer will work for six months together with scientists from the Łukasiewicz – PORT Polish Center for Technology Development, sharing his knowledge and experience. He will implement the “Light converting layers” project in the Advanced Materials Synthesis Research Group at the Materials Engineering Center of our Institute.
Gerd Meyer is a professor at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. Most of his life he spent as a Chair of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Cologne. He is a member of the Royal Chemical Society and the American and German Chemical Societies. His scientific interests include optical and magnetic properties of solids and structure determination.
Scholarship Aleksander von Humboldt is the next stage of prof. Meyer’s cooperation with Łukasiewicz – PORT. In October 2020, he was a guest of the PreATAM conference organized at the Institute in Wrocław – a symposium devoted to the latest achievements in materials engineering.
Polish Honorary Research Scholarship Alexander von Humboldt is an award by the Foundation for Polish Science to scientifically active, outstanding German scientists. The program aims to honor the winners for their scientific achievements and support long-term cooperation between Polish and German researchers.
