Witold Konopka, Patrycja Gazińska, Michał Ślęzak, Grzegorz Chodaczek, Michał Malewicz, Agnieszka Krzyżosiak, and Anna Nosal — meet the P4Health project team, which has just been named among Wrocław’s 30 Creatives.
“P4Health is one of the most ambitious initiatives in precision medicine in Europe. Our city has the opportunity to become a central hub for innovations that truly improve patients’ quality of life and access to health care. Achieving the project’s goals — such as new diagnostic methods, early detection of cancer and neurological diseases, the development of biobanking, and more effective treatment — requires close collaboration among scientists, clinicians, and industry. And we are launching that collaboration,” says Dr. Witold Konopka, project leader and head of the Neuroplasticity and Metabolism Research Group at Łukasiewicz – PORT.
30 Creatives of Wrocław is a city initiative that, for the past eight years, has promoted unconventional, inspiring, and innovative initiatives, people, and ideas — ones that help develop the city and its residents.
P4Health has an international dimension: PORT scientists are collaborating on the project with specialists from CERBM in Strasbourg and King’s College London. However, Wrocław is where its outcomes will be implemented. The capital of Lower Silesia is becoming an important point on the map of European science, uniting the local scientific and academic community while attracting international experts and investment in advanced technologies. The project will support the creation and growth of new spin-off companies and increase innovation in the biomedical sector, strengthening the city’s position as a leader in this field of research in Poland and across Europe.
