Prof. dr Anja-Verena Mudring
Representative of the scientific community, appointed on December 12, 2023.
A specialist in biological and chemical engineering, she received the Göran Gustafsson Award in Chemistry in 2017, awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. She has worked at numerous international universities, and her years of experience contribute to the development of the Łukasiewicz – PORT Institute.
Prof. dr Mark H. Rümmeli
Representative of the scientific community, appointed on December 12, 2023.
He specializes in the synthesis of nanomaterials, nanomaterials in ion batteries, and materials science utilizing electron beams. He has experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels at universities worldwide. Prof. Dr. Mark H. Rümmeli’s knowledge and experience in nanomaterials contribute to the development of the Łukasiewicz – PORT Institute.
Prof. dr George P. Studziński
Representative of the scientific community, appointed on December 12, 2023.
For over 57 years, he has been a lecturer in medical schools and a member of New Jersey Medical School for over 40 years, with more than 200 publications to his name. He has participated in over 100 Scientific Review Committee meetings for various grant-awarding organizations. His knowledge and experience in nanomaterials contribute to the development of the Łukasiewicz – PORT Institute.
Prof. dr hab. Bruno Viana
Representative of the scientific community, appointed on December 12, 2023.
A specialist in the fields of chemistry and physics related to luminescence and the optical characterization of photonic materials. Author of approximately 320 peer-reviewed articles, which are widely cited. Creator of numerous patented (24) inventive projects and an active license on scintillation crystals. His knowledge and experience in chemistry and physics make a significant contribution to the efforts for the development of the Łukasiewicz – PORT Institute.

Jacek Graliński
Representative of the economic community, appointment as of December 12, 2023
A specialist with knowledge of healthcare aspects implemented by both the public and private sectors. He is a medical doctor by education, with practice in surgery, public health, and economics. He has managed external and corporate affairs at companies like Abbott, GlaxoSmithKline, AbbVie, and AstraZeneca. His knowledge and experience in management contribute to the development of the Łukasiewicz – PORT Institute.
Prof. dr hab. Artur Podhorodecki
Representative of the economic community, appointment as of December 12, 2023
A full professor in physical sciences (solid-state physics), founder and president of the Wrocław-based technology company QNA Technology, which develops environmentally friendly semiconductor nanomaterials – colloidal quantum dots emitting in the blue light range for use in displays and LED lighting. Prof. Dr. Hab. Artur Podhorodecki’s knowledge and experience in management significantly contribute to the development of the Łukasiewicz – PORT Institute.
Dr Michał Walczak
Representative of the economic community, appointment as of December 12, 2023
He is the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Captor Therapeutics, a Swiss-Polish startup located in Wrocław and Allschwil, Switzerland. He gained his knowledge and experience as a biophysicist and structural biologist at ETH Zurich (doctoral studies), the Friedrich Miescher Institute of Biomedical Research in Basel (an institute affiliated with the University of Basel and Novartis Institutes of Biomedical Research, doctoral internship), the University of Virginia, and the University of Wroclaw (master’s studies). His research has long focused on understanding molecular interactions between proteins and small molecule drugs. Both his knowledge and management experience contribute to the development of the Łukasiewicz – PORT Institute.
Dr Martin Strassburg
Representative of the economic community, appointment as of December 12, 2023
In the field of experimental physics, he is responsible for innovation and technology collaboration at Opto Semiconductors GmbH. He has led OSRAM Opto Semiconductors’ activities in internationally and nationally funded projects, serving as coordinator, technical director, and work package leader. Since 2014, he has been directing activities in technology innovation and joint efforts at OSRAM Opto Semiconductors. Dr. Martin Strassburg’s knowledge and experience in technological innovation significantly contribute to the development of the Łukasiewicz – PORT Institute.

Cezary Przybylski
Representative with outstanding professional achievements, appointment on December 12, 2023
He has been engaged in public service and local government management for many years. As a councilor and board member of the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality, he worked for the development of the local community. He served as the chairman of the Education Committee of the Association of Polish Counties and cooperated with the Joint Commission of the Government and Local Government, where he was involved in shaping educational policy at the national level. Additionally, he served as the starost (head) of the Bolesławiec County, influencing, among other things, county management. He chaired the Convention of Counties of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, which facilitated cooperation between various counties. He has been a long-standing member of the Monitoring Committee of the Regional Operational Program for the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. In February 2014, he was elected as the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, where he actively supports regional and economic development in Lower Silesia. Cezary Przybylski’s knowledge and management experience are a significant contribution to the development of the Łukasiewicz – PORT Institute.
Piotr Dytko
Representative with outstanding professional achievements, appointment on December 12, 2023
He is an executive director with extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. Before being appointed to the management board of Business & Science Poland, he managed healthcare units and research and development companies, including the St. Jadwiga Śląska Hospital and the main research center of the KGHM capital group – KGHM Cuprum. His knowledge and experience in management contribute to the development of the Łukasiewicz – PORT Institute.
AREA: ŁUKASIEWICZ – PORT EMPLOYEES’ REPRESENTATIVE
Dr Krzysztof Czyż
Employee of the Network Institute, appointed on December 12, 2023
He completed his doctorate at the Military University of Technology in the specialty of Optoelectronics. He has been working at Łukasiewicz – PORT since 2019, initially in the Laser Micromachining Laboratory and later in the Material Technologies Laboratory (Tech-Lab) as a Senior Specialist. He is responsible for, among other things, laser micromachining orders and CleanRoom processes. Since 2022, he has been leading the Tech-Lab. He participates in scientific research and commercial projects. Dr. Krzysztof Czyż’s knowledge and experience contribute to the development of the Łukasiewicz – PORT Institute.
