Łukasiewicz – PORT has signed a letter of intent to support the launch of the Wrocław Drone Valley – a strategic initiative aimed at developing innovative drone technologies in the region. The Wrocław Drone Valley is a project that brings together key sectors: science, business, public administration, and security services. Its goal is to establish a sustainable innovation ecosystem in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) – for both civilian and military applications.

Łukasz Duda, who began his scientific journey at Łukasiewicz – PORT already during his master’s studies, has just defended his Industrial PhD at the University of Wrocław. The project was carried out in collaboration with our institute. It’s a major achievement and – as Dr. Duda himself puts it – the beginning of a new chapter.

The Congress of the Polish Society for Neuroscience Research is the most important recurring event for the brain research community in Poland. This year, for the first time in its history, the Congress will be held in Wrocław. The organization involves scientists from six institutions conducting neuroscience research – all signatories of the Wrocław BioTech Hub. The event will gather 300 scientists, clinicians, and representatives of the biotech industry from around the world, as well as leading international organizations supporting brain research (FENS, IBRO).

Improving the safety of medicine storage and ensuring proper conditions for food warehousing are just some of the benefits of using sensory labels, a technology currently being developed by researchers led by Dr. Bartłomiej Potaniec from the Advanced Materials Synthesis Group from Łukasiewicz – PORT (AdMat Group – team Leader: Dr. hab. The word “disinformation,” which refers to dangerous phenomenon of foreign interference in key – primarily elections – recently gained widespread attention. This is mainly due to its destructive power, achieved with relatively little effort. One way to combat it is through initiatives such as SAUFEX, a project funded by the European Union and coordinated by Łukasiewicz – PORT.
During the Europe Biobank Week 2025 in Bologna, the Łukasiewicz – PORT Biobank was honored with the prestigious BBMRI-ERIC Quality Label Award 2025, which confirms that our unit operates in accordance with the highest standards of quality, transparency, ethics, and data security. BBMRI-ERIC (Biobanking and BioMolecular resources Research Infrastructure – European Research Infrastructure Consortium) is a European organization that brings together biobanks and supports the development of biomedical research through standardization and the provision of high-quality biological data. The BBMRI-ERIC Quality Label is awarded exclusively to biobanks that have successfully passed the second-level BBMRI-ERIC audit, in compliance with ISO 20387.

Dr. Michał Makowski from the Phototonic Materials Research Group, the first author of the article “Scaling Up Purcell-Enhanced Self-Assembled Nanoplasmonic Perovskite Scintillators into the Bulk Regime” published in Advanced Materials, explains the Purcell effect, methods to increase scintillation efficiency, and the prospects for reducing the costs of medical examinations such as PET tomography.

Prof. Jarosław Serafińczuk, a member of the Advanced Semiconductor Epitaxy Research Group, has been awarded the title of professor in the fields of materials engineering and automation, electronics, electrical engineering, and space technologies. Prof. Serafińczuk combines his work at Łukasiewicz – PORT with his duties at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, in the Department of Nanometrology at the Faculty of Electronics, Photonics and Microsystems, and as he says himself, receiving the professorial title has not slowed him down. He specializes in high-resolution X-ray diffraction in materials research. This is one of the fundamental analytical methods, allowing scientists to observe
