Łukasiewicz Research Network – PORT Polish Center for Technology Development is a Research Institute within the Łukasiewicz Research Network. It focuses on development of new technologies, resulting from basic and applied research, which, in turn, serves as a basis for innovative solutions for the industry. With high-class specialists and state-of-the-art infrastructure, we provide capacity for the most advanced research. Senior Specialist – Research Engineer in The Quantitative Virology Research Group
(NCN SONATA BIS 12)
Scope of duties
The candidate will work on the NCN project, in which we aim to investigate the molecular basis of HIV antisense transcripts associated with its latency. The candidate will construct barcoded HIV, perform in vitro infection using barcoded HIV and conduct experiments using several “omics” technologies, including B-HIVE, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, MNase-seq, HIV-1-capture HiC followed by high-throughput sequencing. The successful applicant will also participate in writing articles and grants, mentoring students, and possibly visiting collaborated laboratories abroad. Overall, the successful candidate will have an excellent opportunity to boost his/her scientific career in the HIV field and broaden his/her scientific community.
Requirments:
- Ph.D. in Virology or Molecular Biology or relevant fields.
- at least one first-author peer-reviewed research article.
- Experience in viral culture (lentiviral-based vectors or others).
- Experience in molecular biology techniques (molecular cloning, PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR).
- Experience in any “omics” approach.
- Experience in cell culture.
- Enthusiastic about learning (new knowledge and techniques).
- Task-oriented person and a team worker.
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Available to join us between July and September 2023.
- Experience working in the BSL3 lab (Preferences).
- Experience in generating high-throughput sequencing libraries (Preferences).
